Green Route Trek

A perfect name for the route. If you belong to the type "I love nature", this is where you must be atleast once in your lifetime. Western ghats long stretch of mountains which extend to the horizon, the greenery on either side of the route, bridges, tunnels and more add to its beauty.

Here you follow the rail route enjoying the scenic beauty. The trek distance depends on you. One can trek the whole way from sakleshpur to subramanya. A shorter one may be from Donigal to Yedakumari (17kms rail distance).
Donigal is 10kms from Sakleshpur on Bangalore-Manglore road.

NOTE - Yedakumari is not approachable by road. Hence you need to catch a train from there or cross the forest to reach the main road at Kaginahare(8kms).

If you can pull out 2 days for this trek, I suggest you board the Bangalore-Manglore train, get down at Sakleshpur(Donigal), trek till Yedakumari and take a train again from there.

Also make sure you are in good health and carry good amount of eatables and water.
